IPL Photo Facial Treatment
IPL is a non-invasive treatment breakthrough that treats skin damage without “downtime”. IPL can treat a wide range of facial concerns safely and effectively, such as broken capillaries, spider veins, age spots (sun-induced freckles), and other benign skin lesions. IPL is FDA-approved for all skin types. A pulse of IPL light may feel like a pinch similar to a snapping rubber band. The physician may apply a chilled gel or a topical anesthetic to prevent any discomfort. The entire procedure is brief and non-invasive – no needles are used at any time.
There are no absolute changes in activities, before or after treatment. Prior to the following IPL treatment, you must limit your exposure to the sun (treatment should not be performed on tanned skin). Other recommendations include avoiding aspirin, alcohol and not smoking for at least a week prior to the procedure.
On the day of the treatment one should avoid all creams, lotions and moisturizers on the area that is going to be treated. One should wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the body part(s). treatment, you can return to your normal activities. Soon after the procedure, you may feel a slight bump on the skin which will disappear in the next 2-4 hours. The area may also appear slightly redder and occasionally may be bruised.
